The LW8(A)-40.5 outdoor AC SF6 Circuit Breaker is a three-phase, 50Hz outdoor high-voltage electrical device designed for use in power systems with a rated voltage of 40.5 kV. It utilizes SF6 gas as the arc-quenching and insulating medium, with a compressed gas arc-extinguishing mechanism, providing superior interrupting capability. This circuit breaker is suitable for applications in power substations, power plants, and distribution networks where it can reliably switch both rated and short-circuit currents. It is also ideal for use as a link breaker or for disconnecting capacitor banks. The breaker features a porcelain column design with three distinct phases, each equipped with a separate arc-extinguishing chamber filled with compressed air. The three-phase gas is connected by copper tubing. The key components of the breaker include the porcelain housing, current transformer, arc extinguishing chamber, absorber, operating mechanism, transmission box, base frame, connecting rods, and springs. The porcelain sleeve serves as the support and insulation for connecting the breaker’s main circuit to the power system. It also forms part of the pressure vessel, providing robust strength and ensuring airtightness.
