Current transformers use electromagnetic induction to measure high currents. The primary winding, often a single turn, encircles the conductor carrying the current. The resulting magnetic field induces a smaller, proportional current in a multi-turn secondary winding. This secondary current is then used by measuring devices. The turns ratio between primary and secondary windings allows accurate measurement of large currents, effectively ‘transforming’ them into a manageable form for safe and convenient use. As a current transformer supplier, we understand the importance of accurate and reliable current measurement in a variety of applications.
